“To me, Mirah's vocals - while excellent - have always suffered by a stilted, almost formal delivery. They're still as precise as ever on this record but the edges are softer, more relaxed. Makes for a more comfortable sexier kind of swagger to her phrasing. This is great stuff. Her most confident record yet.”

“Cannot recommend enough. My new favorite band. Yeah, it's kinda Math rock-y. "Black" is probably the most accessible of the three "Taxes" records (the songs have a bit more recognizable structure to them, and one - Golden Line - actually has lyrics!) but, seriously... take these three records as a whole! These guys deserve some of your time. Impressive stuff!”

“Fantastic song! Gently rolling cabaret-style vocals over the shifting and swelling dynamics. Carefully wrought and personal treatment of the subject with orchestration that resembles - yes - Radiohead at their Marconi-influenced height. All from one dude recording in his bedroom in Illinois. Great stuff! ”
