My Recommendations

Rec'd this on Dec 12, 2007
“Much of Bach's oeuvre translates well to guitar, and the arrangements by this group are no exception. Overall, this track is quite enjoyable. The guitarists demonstrate a clean, versatile technique. My only complaint is that the recording is a bit stale: the four guitars mush together a bit. One gets the impression that this was recorded with only one microphone in a room with dead acoustics. Considering how well the music is played, the mediocre sound quality is a mild disappointment. But, this is still worth downloading.”

“The pacing of 'The Storm' keeps pushing and pulling the listener along; it is certainly an aural adventure! ”

“Had Camille not mentioned that this is a recording from a student recital, I would never have guessed that this would be the case. The treatment of the horn is languid and fluid. I find it to be a thoroughly enjoyable interpretation of the piece, though perhaps somewhat lacking in the variation and power some enjoy in the instrument. My only complaint is that the acoustic is a little dry. The rich texture we expect from the horn is lacking a bit, but that does not detract much from enjoying this piece.”
