“Extremely repetitive, but I was hooked the first time I heard this many years ago. I'm just discovering the rest of the album, at last.”

“On this track Red Pen wears their influences on their sleeve: SY and MBV come to mind. If you know what those mean, listen to this.”

“First listen through and I think this is the standout track of the album. The rec system means these reviews are never very carefully considered, but that's my first impression. Red Pen sound a little like Times New Viking, but better, I think, and way better than similar sounding Wavves (but who doesn't?)”

“This song needs a rec. It comes out as a blend of shoe-gazing fuzz and Swedish pop, maybe leaning more towards the pop side. When I hear it I think of the Cure on "High" or "Friday I'm in Love."”

“Over and Over opens with three gorgeous fuzz pop songs. If you love shoe-gazer music, these might be perfect for you. And take a look at the track "Over and Over", too”

“I have been anticipating this release for some time. I think this will be one of the top albums of the year for me, and "Seconds Away", a beautiful fuzz pop song that might even become a classic, one of my favourite tunes of the year.”

“Time will tell, but beat the hype now and get a few Satin Peaches singles cheap on Amie Street. If the hype comes, they'll deserve it. These are really good songs.”

“Kaki King is everything a guitar god is not supposed to be: female. On this cut somehow her voice doesn't get in the way of that guitar. When I think of the guitar greats I think of Jimi Hendrix and Kevin Shields. She doesn't sound like either of them, but seems to be going her own way.”

“I can imagine this as a group sing along...when I was twenty something. But the song still works for me now. Get this if you get nothing else by the artist.”

Track: Pong (Ben Klock Remix (Edit))
(

Artist: Kerri Chandler
“More than a decade on, Global Underground still knows what's good in progressive house. With Kerri Chandler cooking up the original and Ben Klock on the remix, "Pong" alone will give you a survey of what today's "superstar" DJs are banging out - the rest of the 2-disc album just takes you that much deeper.”

“Breaking out of the decade-old dub techno mold, Yagya has an ear for song structure where his colleagues are content to focus on textures. Too subtle for a dance floor but too dance for a dinner party - this album is one you'll keep coming back to for the quiet moments you have to yourself.”

“If the landscapes in Sweden are a fraction as beautiful as the soundscapes they seem to inspire, I can't imagine anyone getting anything done without first spending a few hours simply staring at the horizon.”
