I am married with a son, Matt (born 1992) and live in a smallish town in the south of the UK. I commute about 30m to work for a small firm of accountants, but spend much of my spare time trawling for and listening to music. I also like watching football (support Reading FC), cinema and TV, a bit of gardening and DIY on our old house.

“Has a fresh, punchy stripped down feel like old fashioned garage rock of yore. I really like the wordy, intelligent "stream of consciousness" lyrics, they remind me of The Smiths.”

“Spiky, energetic and in your face with clever lyrics which come at you fast. I too recommend the EPs even if I can only access them through Napster - especially liking the wit of Mr Schonke from their 2007 eponymous debut collection.”

“Just had to be able to say I own "Transcendentalism is Like Wow" by The Curiously Strong Peppermints, however crap it might be. Pleasantly surprised with the bonus that it's really good. Maybe like if the Beatles had amalgamated with Syd Barrett's Pink Floyd to produce psych music that makes some sense.”
rpmarkham Rec'd this on Nov 2, 2009:

“Stream of consciousness on modern life set to a swirling minimal backing of strings piano and barely recognisable guitar. Hypnotic, a little disturbing and totally gripping. The first classical rap?”
