“Good record labels tend to come and go. They peak, then natural fade into some kind of obscurity. Ninja Tune seemed to do that, but for some reason they seem to have reinvented themselves as...well, an interesting contemporary source of electronic offerings. This time around there seems to be more variety, King Cannibal being a good example of a much less soft Ninja Tune release (I like that). But they seem to have been building an interesting roster of contemporary artists at both ends. Go Ninja Tune!”

“I downloaded this album just so I could rec (I bought it already elsewhere). Carrie produces a unique kind of sound that's pretty, a bit quirky without sounding like anyone else and sometimes I just need something like that.

“A little punk, a lot of noise and stuttering, glitchy goodness. If Sonic Youth was an experimental industrial group; this is what I imagine they would sound like. ”

“This album is Various's critically acclaimed first full length album (released 2006).
Various are an English production duo who blend samples, acoustic and electronic instrumentation, and singing refreshingly into a revolving set of styles which include dubstep, grime, Brit-folk, trip hop and drum ānā bass. ”

“Good summer music for when you're in the car or shutting every electric-wasting thing in the house off except the music player.”

“This instrumental song marries the funk of the Chili Peppers with the grimy raw sounds of Tom Waits and industrial feel of Nine Inch Nails... Excellent!
