“absolutely bangin' tune. with Fela Kuti's work currently being praised on Broadway and his back catalog being released in North America for the first time, it's a perfect time to revisit this cut from Antibalas (or get familiar with it for the first time). a wonderful Afrobeat shuffle that never strays from the groove. in the immortal words of Frankie Crocker, "if you don't dig it, you know you've got a hole in your soul..."”

“it's always interesting when you hear an original version of a tune after you hear the remixes first. sometimes you can be let down as a result because you're so used to the remixes. this is one of those instances where that didn't happen, where i latched on to the original that much more because of its originality and tenderness. the lyrics read like poetry and the music box harmonies underneath are just perfect. absolutely wonderful tune...”

“simply put: flying lotus is the golden child. great when he's in downtempo mode, just as lethal if not more so when he's in get up and dance mode. this remix is on that "get up" tip. it'll get me dancing wherever i am every time. a great remix for a great song.”

“one of the things that i've always liked about the original was that there so much going on in the studio mix you noticed different things each time. for that reason, it's interesting to hear a stripped-down version of the song. Nu-Mark's remix keeps you head-nodding with a standup bass and piano riding the hard knock of the drum programming. in some ways, it's a stark contrast to the original, but really good and equally as interesting.”
