Favorite Venues

Top 5 Venues 1. The Warfield in San Francisco California. Why? I've seen so many great shows there Danzig, Violent Femmes, Sugar. And I've had some crazy experiences waiting to meet Danzig (original line up plus Erie Von's girlfriend) and Sugar's Bob Mould and Co. who talked us about the perilous nature of parallel parking in S.F. and Jello Biafra who just happened to be grocery shopping at 2 am with a fur jacket and cowboy hat. Plus it's just an amazing venue to see a show. 2. The Cactus Club in San Jose California. Why? I saw Yo La Tengo there for the first time. I watched Ira, from the front row, shred the guitar like he was Jimi Hendrix, then I walked home (3 miles) in the cold. A magical night. 3. The Roseland (even dispite the crappy acoustics) in Portland Oregon. Why? I saw Rollins band and Danzig tear it up in the Rose city. 4. La Luna in Portland Oregon (now defunct). Why? It was the last time I saw Yo La Tengo live. The last time was nearly as good as the first. 5. Paradise Lounge: A podunk bar in San Francisco. Why? Two of the best live shows I've ever been to. Front row to Chris Isaak and Silvertone as they honed their skills, unannounced, for their San Francisco Days tour. The most intimate environment ever, it was like a house party rather than a show. Runner Up: The Crystal Ballroom: Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. I was set to see them on Sept. 14 2001. The show of course was canceled. I waited over seven years for them to come back. It was worth the wait. NC&TBS did not disappoint. And it the show was on Nick Cave's birthday. It doesn't get much better than that.

A haunting lullaby for those long winter nights.

Great opening hook and beat. Simple and classy.

This is one of those tracks that you've heard at the movies or on TV and now you know who's responsible for it. Mogwai!

Very reminiscent of Legacy of Brutality era Misfits. A definite retro horror punk fix.
