Frank's music has been described as raw, personal and visceral. Having played in cities, villages and roadsides across the West, Frank developed a songwriting style that cuts to the heart of an issue. His guitar ability has matured over the years and his voice has a range that matches his subject matter. Frank was born in Florida in the first half of the last century. He was exposed to the music of the 1950’s jukeboxes at the bars where his mother worked. Country was soon augmented by 60’s folk music, and that became a staple for years. Frank also discovered bluegrass, which became a strong influencing factor in his music as did John Prine, Tom T. Hall, Willie Nelson, Leo Kottke, John Denver and Norman Blake. After his discharge from the Air Force in 1974, he moved to Colorado, where he has lived ever since. Frank started writing songs in the 60’s. Fortunately, his early works have long since been lost. He writes and performs what can only be called a fusion of bluegrass, country and folk. He plays a Martin D-40 FMG Limited Edition with light gauge Elixir strings, utilizing flat-picking and finger-picking styles.

“One of the best openings of any live album ever recorded. Withers and co. are so funky that the audience is clapping the entire time. The icing on the cake: after they've played the song once, Bill introduces the band and plays the song in its entirety for a second time!”
