“With her latest cd, I Feel Cream, Peaches lets the world know beyond any doubt that underneath all her outrageous posturing, posing and deliriously deranged sexual antics, she is an extremely talented singer and songwriter. This cd is a relevation, from the beginning track (the one I'm rec'ing) all the way through to the very last. My 4 or 5 personal faves keep changing every time I listen (I suggest headphones) but the hellbent lyrics and drive of "Mud", the fury and frustration of "Talk To Me" and her surprising eloquent singing on "Lose You" are always on top.
If you've been a follower of her work over the years, as I have, or a newbie lucky enough to have discovered her at this pivotal point in her career, I cannot recommend this cd highly enough.”

“Get 'em while you can ~ Uh Huh Her's first full-length cd, available dirt cheap here at the Street! Favorite tracks: Not a Love Song, Common Reaction (title track), Away From Here, Dance With Me, and this one. ”

“Got turned on to The Early Years while searching today at the site for Low Vs Diamond, and I like 'em. Recommend all the tracks, starting with this one. ”

“This is why I love Amie Street - had never heard of Two Loons until today, when they were featured at the site. Been getting the crash course in the past hour, listening to all the tracks, downloading quite a few. This one, from Looking For Landmarks, is one of my favorites ~ quirky and eloquent, with another supremely committed vocal from Sarah Scott, who reminds me of Roisin Murphy, which is a HUGE compliment to Ms. Scott.”

“If you're not familiar with Electric Six, you've got a treat in store. These freaks are the Real Deal - phenomenal energy, fantastic music (with lyrics on the delightfully bent & twisted side), and their videos are hilarious, especially the one for Gay Bar, which you can view in all its demented glory at their website. Choosing this tune, but any one of these is worthy of REC-age, my other faves being Dance COmmandeR, I Invented The Night, Synthesizer and of course Gay Bar.
PS ~ Great interview with lead singer Dick Valentine here: http://benkharakh.com/electric_excellence .”

“Discovered this band today, in the 'new' section. This song is my favorite of all the ones they've posted ~ has a sort of dreamy surfy rock feel to it, with an edge. ”

“So here we have Mark Henry Phillips, doing (very creative) business as Sono Oto, whom I discovered at a different site and was really pleased to find his tracks here, at a tantalizingly acceptable price (they're free). This is my favorite track from this cd - an infectious and charming little dittie for lobsters and lobster lovers alike. ”

“Darker My Love's music has to be experienced loud, preferably in decent headphones, while you're in a suitably relaxed state. You will like it. ”

“I have to REC this one too, from South's just-released new cd You Are Here...Yesterday I wrote that Soul Receivers is my favorite track, and this one is right up with it. Love the tempo switches and the overall trippy texture, another beautifully realized track from this great band. ”

“South's latest cd, You Are Here, just released ~ all 13 tracks available at these lower prices, thanks to the brilliance that is AmieStreet. Snap 'em up while you can. Soul Receiver is my current favorite, but it's all fantastic.”

“Been a fan of Jess Klein's ever since I saw her live a few years back, performing at the Mint (in L.A.) as part of Voices on the Verge. Very pleased to see a LIVE cd here at Amie Street - her releases are great, but seeing her LIVE is a truly fantastic experience. Soda Water's one of my favorites from Strawberry Lover, but you can't go wrong with any of these tracks. ”

“Discovered Filligar today, thanks to the 'Most Popular' category here at Amie Street. Their sound is melodic and pure; you can tell these tracks come from the heart. And their album cover art doesn't suck either. ”

“All Night is one of my favorite Silos tracks, from Hasta La Victoria or any other of their great cds. Starts with a supremely cool fade-in and gets cooler and cooler as it goes on, with the only vocals being the words "All Night" and that infectious Warlocks-type guitar riff (this was written way before the Warlocks, which makes it even cooler - yes, cool is the operative word here). The thing about all the Silos' stuff is how contemporary it still sounds. ”

“Hasta La Victoria - The Silos' 1994 release, with one great track after the other, brutally hard to decide which one to REC ~ chose this one because I think it best represents the rest. Suggest you get 'em all. ”

“Sucker for jungle-type drums, which this track features in a big way. Great vibe throughout the (very generous) running time. Plus, check out his other two tracks - I Could Be The Rain and I Am Free, and also his track with DJ Gazoo. Smooth stuff. ”

“Soft acoustic tracks, wistful but not depressing, these songs from SeriousMoon ~ I think they deserve a listen. Favorites : this one, On A Good Day and Back To You. ”

“This treat song is from Ask the Dust, a compilation of the Silos' first two cds, from the 80's. Still sounds contemporary after all this time, love it. ”

“Brilliant track from a dazzling band - majorly surprised this one is still free. The longest track on their Trust Electricity cd, it reminds me of The Warlocks at their finest. ”
