“Both immediate and beautiful, this whole short album gives a hint of what kids can do given the musical tools and a sense of possibility.”

“Simple. straightforward, unadorned and beautiful”

“Take Woody Guthrie, combine him with your younger sister tormenting the cat, then record the whole thing in the shower. That's Daniel Johnston, and that's why I love him. He deals with the world with a barebones perverted Christian skew that's honest to the core--though scary.”

“Reich may be the last of the great minimalists to stay with the format. Where Philip Glass has gone more operatic and Terry Riley drifted into Eastern smoothness, Reich has, if anything, gone full circle back to his minimalist roots. This album will be hard to take for some--it goes somewhere but does so slowly and incrementally, especially this first track. But those who thrived on Riley's "In C" and Reich's own earlier works will find it well worth their time.”
