The Dandy Highwaymen is the name of a fictitious band that never existed. These recordings are all just home demos recorded over the period of 1979-2004. I'm not doing much writing anymore, but I hate to think of all these songs just sitting around in my house unheard, when they can be sitting up on a website somewhere unheard.

Favorite Artists

I wished I sounded like any of these bands/artists: Patto, Stevie Wonder, The Stars of Heaven, Bob Marley, The Replacements, China Crisis, Steely Dan, and Big Star.

“Beach Boys meet The Flaming Lips! Kind of unfinished sounding, but that is part of this song's charm.”

“Another surprising Amie St. find. Slow-building track with a cool sideways groove. Kind of sneaks up on ya!”

“Very refreshing approach. Minimal instrumentation, great chord changes and competent playing. Jazz-rock without the pretentiousness.”

“A little rough around the edges, but it works for this song. Kind of like a cross between grunge and psychedelia. Dig the organ!”

“Really like this one. It is smooth and has a nice downtempo break beat. The touch of piano and accoustic guitar add a nice familiar feel to the track.”

“I like the bassline and house beat. The vocals remind me of macy gray or fantasia barrino - a little bit smokey. Good balanced mix of vocals, beat, and other electronic elements.”
