If one were to combine passion, energy, vibrance and overwhelming talent into one being you have the powerful Malene Younglao. A native of Trinidad and Tobago, she migrated to New York City in 1990. It was in Brooklyn at the age of 10, that her love affair with music became official. Now, at the age of 24, Younglaos love affair has blossomed in to a marriage- a love of passion and labor that she wishes to share with anyone with the capacity to listen. Standing at 6feet tall this statuesque child of activist parents has always been considered a visionary, pushing the boundaries of sound in order to create music that is, as she would like to see the world- beautiful and sincere. This vision permeates every aspect of her life; it is seen in her personal style, flare and alternative sound. A pioneer in her own right she has been influenced by legendary greats such as Bob Marley, Nirvana, Shadow, Jay Z and Tina Turner. Her music is exemplary of being a child of the world experience living in the inner city. Her version of rock and roll is an alternative mixture of dancehall, hip-hop and everything in rock ranging from the hardcore metal to emo. Younglaos music strikes the listener with the bitter sweetness of life and living it to the fullest. Blessed with stunning beauty, undeniable presence and innate sensual energy Younglao is electric.
