Jimmy Beattie has been fighting for his passion since he was a young man. His devotion to music came at the hands of his father, Jim Sr. who instilled the tools within Jimmy to be a true musician. A few chords, a lot of love, and an old guitar were passed down to this inspiring artist at the age of eleven; during this early stage in his life he discovered many things about himself. Most important of all his discoveries were two life goals he has held honest too since he set them; the first, to make Jim Sr. proud, and the second, to play his music with honesty and love. However, Jimmy’s life story is not an easy one to swallow nor is it heartwarming. No, this is not a “rags to riches” account, and it’s not even close to a fairytale ending. His story is one of struggle and hardship that recalls the early passing of his hero, his best friend, and his mentor Jim Sr., as well as the tough years that followed. No water, no heat, no food, and only his guitar to keep him sane, Jimmy overcame adversity because of his strong will and his two life goals that he refused to give up on. He is a survivalist and in the release of his debut solo album “The Last War,” he tells a tale of pain and suffering as well as his emergence from the “darkest days” in his life that he never thought he could make through.
