My Recommendations

“This is not a recommendation. In fact, I felt it obligatory to waste a recommendation to not recommend this album. Yes, this is the famous Tay Zonday of Chocolate Rain fame and these tracks are just as inane and vapid. However, his last album garnered 98 cents a track here, so why not try to ride the wave. Well, the appropriate answer to that is its pretty useless to try to ride a wave that has already crashed on the beach. Is the 15 minutes of fame over? If so, that's okay, he at least had his moment -- if not, maybe I can cash in on this rec for at least 20 or 30 cents -- that's more than I get recommending really good albums.”

“A little like Blonde Redhead, but has a European mellow-jazz feel. Try this track to see if you want to take a chance. Some may be annoyed by vocals, but for me it is totally appropriate to the overall effect.”

“Energetic Brian Seltzer. AMG gives this 4 starts. Prime example of abstracting a genre into the present -- almost cartoon-like at times. Music has a self-awareness quality which keeps it from taking itself too seriously but still retain charm. ”

“Slightly irregular, flowing relaxed reflective music and lyrics with strong sense of flow and direction. Second album from this group. Check out Apples and Allergies as well as this opening track. Review referring to these as the next Arcade Fire -- personally I prefer this to Arcade First. Review: http://awmusic.ca/2009/03/03/the-rest-everyone-all-at-once-review/”
