1865 Hip Hop

1865 is an observer, a musician embedded in the natural world creating a sound which is just part of a lifelong experiment he began at the fresh age of 12 . Originally from the middle of America he now pays rent in a breeding ground of unique souls. Calling San Francisco, California his open rest spot and stomping ground, 1865 has already been the opening buzz for The Roots, Atmosphere, The Pharcyde, MF Doom, Kool Keith, and even the punk-rock-reggae band Zebrahead. With a heavy grassroots promotion and a couple of gigs at South by Southwest music conference his first EP '1865" (2006) was able to squeezed out 3,000 copies independently. Now with his first studio album "Dark Matter" just being weeks released it has already received comforting support from listeners spanning across the US, Europe, Australia, and Japan. 1865 is a breath of fresh air not only in his music but in his personality as well. Catch him walking down the block with pink skill Vans on his feet, a rose patched jacket, and what he calls "laser beams" all down the side of his head he is a laid back extremely focused individual being himself. "The cool thing about the future is through its definition, it's constantly blue-shifting and the past red-shifting, so I like to think of my future as bright blue." 1865 has a very unique outlook and it's obvious to see when you meet him face to face; he demands respect and exudes insight by nature.
