Not a true band, the Toms was actually the solo project of singer/songwriter Tom Marolda, a firm believer in D.I.Y. principles who played all of the instruments on his 1979 self-titled debut effort. The album was the group's lone recording, and as a result of distribution problems, it became a much sought-after cult object as the years passed; finally, in 1997, the Not Lame label reissued The Toms for mass consumption, complete with seven unreleased tracks. After moving his studio from NJ to Las Vegas he found songs that were not release, He reworked then and released Simplicity in 2005 The whole ablbum is timeless. The are all well written, arranged and played. Vocals are clear and easy to listen to. Great album.
