Amie Street is pioneering the concept of "social music retail." We've combined a digital music store with a social network focused entirely on discovering and buying new music.
Signing up and selling your music is totally free.
Amie Street is the only music website with a built-in promotional system. On other music websites it is easy for independent artists to sink into obscurity. Amie Street's model was built to facilitate the discovery and purchase of independent music in two key ways:
- Amie Street gives fans the incentive to discover and purchase your music through our unique pricing model. All songs on Amie Street start free and rise in price up to 98 cents based on the number of times they are bought. The first several downloads of your songs are free because this encourages fans to experiment with your music even if they haven't heard of you.
- Amie Street gives fans incentive to spread the word about your music to their friends through our innovative recommendation system. For example, if a fan recommends your song when it's free, and the price your song rises to 98 cents, we give that fan 98 cents worth of credit to buy more music.
Highlights from the Amie Street Artist Agreement:
- Amie Street takes no ownership of your music, nor do we ask that you sell exclusively on Amie Street. There is no digital rights management software (DRM) on Amie Street.
- Amie Street does not charge a monthly fee or a sign up fee.
- Artists collect 70% of the money from each song after it has made $5. The first $5 of each song covers our storage, bandwidth, and transaction costs for that song. This ONE-TIME only charge is deducted from your first royalty check so there is no risk: you only have the $5 deducted after you make it.
- You are paid quarterly via paypal (sign up is totally free).
