Born (1988) in the Boogie Down Bronx, where Hip-Hop found its hype and home of the Bronx Bombers. His name is Lovett, but better known as “Vett.” His passion and love are music. Lovett’s father, Wayne Evans played a heavy influence on his decision to become a producer. Producing is in his blood. Since his early teens, Wayne Evans was known for drum playing throughout the streets of Harlem. Lovett was raised on his father’s stories of playing in a band with Teddy Riley. Wayne was the band manager, drummer and keyboardist. Wayne’s music inspired his son and provided the soundtrack of Vett’s childhood.
2009 marks Vett’s sixth year of composing and producing. Eager to start since 4th grade, Lovett says, “I didn’t have the resources to record my ideas. Therefore, I used a pen, my hands, and a tape recorder to get my ideas out. I would hum sounds, turning my mouth into an instrument. When I graduated Junior High School, I did some web searches looking for freeware to help me make my music. Though I found many programs, but unfortunately none of them satisfied me. Luckily, I met one of my boys and he showed me fruity loops. At first glance, Fruity Loops was too complex, but after spending hours messing around I eventually got the hang of it.” As his skills developed, Vett has mastered the following software: Reason 4, Protools 8, and Logic Pro 7, all of which are incorporated into his current work.

In 2004-2005, Lovett interned at Mantis Media, formally known as Native, LLC. “Mantis Media is comprised of composers, sound designers and engineers from various parts of North America and Europe. When you need audio to complement your project, you can count on Mantis Media to provide you with talented creative professionals who 'make' the music happen.” In his early days at Mantis Media, Lovett found himself unhappy; he wasn’t doing what he intended to do. Instead of being on the creative side of the work, he was mopping floors, organizing media closets and running to stores to pick up ink for the printer. After a few months of running errands, Lovett’s dedication and strong performance was noticed by his mentor. From time to time, his mentor would ask him to setup for a session. Vett says, “I knew that if he was asking me to complete small tasks, my mentor would eventually let me do something more important so…I stuck it through and eventually I landed my first project assisting in the recording session for a TV commercial “Baby Bottle Pop.”

In 2006, after graduating from The Bronx Guild High School, Lovett took part in starting a record label with a friend shared his passion: music. Focus Entertainment was the idea but for legal reasons they couldn’t use it. So they named it “Xposja Entertainment.” Vett and his friend, Melo, joined forces with a few more experienced professionsals. Xposja Entertainment rapidly grew rapidly and at its height, Vett was working with nine artists. As the company started to unravel due to conflicting ideas, Vett stayed committed to the work he was doing with his artists. Eventually, Vett stepped away from Xposja, leaving on good terms with all the players. On his future with Xposja Entertainment, Vett explains, “I can see myself collaborating with them from time to time. They have some great artist and producers.”

In early 2008, Lovett was introduced to Flow, studio owner of Bronx Muzik Studios, through songwriter and recording artist Knova. Knova and Vett had great relationship while working together at Xposja studios. At Bronx Muzik Studios Vett is currently producing for Marquee Reddick, an up-and coming pop recording artist set to blow at anytime. She has a smashing hit single "Handle This." In addition, he’s also expected to be producing for recording artist, Mysterious from Making The Band 2.

MVP Most Valuable Producers – “More Variety Production.” New production label which combines the talents of Producers Melo and Vett as well as Recording and Mixing Engineer, Chris B. These three individuals attended Bronx Guild High School and are essentially picking up from where they left off when they graduated. These guys together are extremely talented. In the few months since they’ve started MVP, this group landed a project with Carlos Gonzalez who a well known comedian. Carlos has performed in many venues throughout NYC including Broadway Comedy Club and is supported by MTV TRES(3)
