“I'm surprised to get this album so cheap. Just a real pretty album. Plenty of moments of dissonance and tension, but still with a swing and flow that keeps it cohesive. This particular song is my favorite (thus far) on the album. Reminds of Kenny Garrett's beautiful tune "Song of Songmy" in the way it's so lighthearted yet subtly ominous at the same time. Get this song, and really, get the whole album.”

“Alright, I've just listened to the album straight through twice now, and I still feel just as strongly that you should pick this one up, no matter what the price is. This is some great music. ”

“Okay, I said I was gonna just copy and paste from one of the other recs on this album, and now I've done it. Here I am, quoting myself. I said... "I feel like I should just copy and paste all the compliments I've been posting on Wendell's songs/albums. I know there's jazz fans out there, and I know some of you are looking to Amie with the emusic changes (I'm one). Here's a ray of hope that you can still find fantastic music at a price that allows you to take some chances. Buy this album, and buy his other album "Rush & Hustle"." ...And I stand by my statement.”

“Hadn't heard of Wendell Harrison before Amie St., and he's now pretty much the reason I'm gonna keep in touch with this site. Some fantastic jazz on this album. I still think his album "Rush & Hustle" is the stronger of the two, but not by much, and that opinion might change. Track three, "In Your Own Sweet Way" is winding down, and it's got me writing another rec on Wendell. This album has more of a drive than "Rush", but doesn't lose any of that fluttering clarinet beauty in the rear view mirror.”

“Decent enough album. I bought this album based on the strength of his album "Rush & Hustle" (also available on Amie St.) which is one of the strongest jazz titles on this site. For the price, it's definitely a deal, and besides, this guy's got a sound (at least on his non-fusion-y, contemp jazz albums) that should be good twenty four seven.”
