About Waiting To Derail

Coming out of Lubbock, Tx, Waiting To Derail create music that is both sparse, yet meaningful. Drawing inspiration from the isolation that is life in Lubbock, Waiting To Derail continue on in the tradition of Buddy Holly, The Flatlanders, and Waylon Jennings, mixing country with rock 'n' roll.

Call them Alt.Country, call them ya'llternative, call them whatever. Waiting To Derail will continue to write and play music that is entertaining and original.

2006 sees the release of Waiting To Derail's self-titled, self-released debut. Recorded in West Texas, the album is a mixture of both rock and country, and it contains songs that will stick in your head for days!

So if you like a little bit of country with your rock 'n' roll, then Waiting To Derail will not disappoint!

“It's music to ponder for it has an easy, successful style and insightful, if not satirical, lyrics. 5*”

“I enjoy the DSP effects made with this recording. The lyrics have depth and a desirable rhythm. I'll go back to this one, because it's a five star song.”

“Can't believe I am the first to get this album. Gave it one listen and I think I like this track the best. But they are all good. Score!”

“This is a terrific song. So many influences pop out at me, from a little bit of Ben Harper to the Grateful Dead to straight-ahead Americana-rock, done as it should be. Some great guitar goin' on. One reviewer called them "ya'allternative"... how cool is that. Other comparisons: The Get Up Kids, Flatlander, Limbeck, Buddy Holly, Waylon Jennings and Whiskeytown.”
