“Hearing this acoustic demo gives you an awesome glimpse into Trey's mind as he was composing this creative masterpiece. This demo sounds like he was sitting around his living room playing it for a group of his family and friends...no overdubs or anything. Enjoyable as a stand-alone or as an encore to the "Time Turns Elastic" album.”

“A spectacular acoustic performance. Trey's voice seems a little strained by the end, but this was just a demo after all.”

“Trey Anastasio's Time Turns Elastic is truly a masterpiece for this day and age where designations amongst genres are slowly disintegrating. Technically speaking, one could call this entire record a concerto for guitar-wielding singer/songwriter and orchestra. Obviously Trey is at the center of this large-scale work, but with a little help from composer Don Hart. This entire concerto aspires to essentially create a world around in a transportive and colorful way, and greatly succeeds in doing so. Nature is heavily evoked in the names of the movements I do think they work well with the imagery provided programmatically. The orchestra parts tend to be densely textured and Trey's solo guitar musings fit nicely amongst the psychedelic tapestry that the orchestra provides. His voice also finds its way through the backdrop quite effectively, however this is mostly due to the fact that one would not be accusstomed to hearing a voice like Trey's in a classical setting. This original acoustic sketch serves as a fine example of witnessing Trey in the act of crafting this universe, and also is a fine track in and of it self. Highly recommended”

“Really good acoustic guitar work throughout this whole demo. Feels much more personal than the rest of the album.”

“Nice melody. The arrangement almost sounds like it would be at home as the theme for a Role Playing Game.”

“Movement 3 is my favorite - short and sweet, with a nice payoff at the end. This track features some nice tension that leads into the finale.”

“This is the type of music that, when you close your eyes, can transport you anywhere your imagination will take you...so moving!”
