“Tommy Turrentine's only solo album is a sold effort and includes underrated trombonist Julian Priester, Horace Parlan on piano, and one of the most innovative and talented jazz drummers of all time, Max Roach. These neglected albums of the past, of which there are so many, certainly hold there own against the many hard bop revival albums of the 80s and 90s and should be seriously considered as additions to one's jazz libary. This musicians play together exceptionally well and create evocative meaningul music. Rated 4 stars by AMG.”
