About Close Enemies

In the summer of 2006, James Killington, former founder and member of Long Beach based band The Killingtons, set out to form a new group with newly acquainted friend and bassist, Dorian Love. Glenn, a long standing friend and at-the-time roommate of Love, "snuck into" the first musical meeting with the duo ..boards. The three immediately hit it off and began writing songs under the name "The Secret 6." With differing musical backgrounds, the trio easily fused a collection of music which varies from song to song, yet stands together as one. Within the first month of meeting, The Secret 6 recorded their first single "Familiar." After numerous tryouts, the band finally found their fourth member in jazz enthusiast and session drummer, Jon Sacks. Building momentum in the summer of 2007, the group, went to work with a busy schedule of weekly Los Angeles gigs. By the summer of '07, the group released "Give In," a melodic pop song with melancholy vocals written by James under The Killingtons, and was featured on the soundtrack of the major motion picture Penelope (2008), (starring Christina Ricci, James McAvoy, and Reese Witherspoon). Finally, after months of hard work, The Secret 6 released their first full length album, "Close Enemies," which features 14 songs including "Familiar" and "Give In." Other songs on the album, "1992," "After Hours," and "Last Dance," have earned airplay on LA's Indie 103.1FM and KROQ 106.7FM.
