About Beloved

The group originally formed as a trio in 2004 around the principal songwriting talents of Bob Lichty and Andrew Kreider, with Steve Martin on bass. This ensemble primarily supported the solo efforts of the songwriters, who together had released over a dozen CD’s on their own. Andrew Kreider’s CD “Firebrands and Golden Strands” released in 2006 has received steady airplay and sales locally.

With the addition of Andrew Hauser on drums, and Luke Kahawai on vocals in 2007, they assumed a new identity as “The Minor Profits”. This formulation has led to an increasing number of live performances, and has generated new original music written for and arranged by the band.

The Minor Profits are part of a growing movement of independent artists that defy current music industry genres. “We like the description of Americana, and the blend of musical influences it implies.” noted the band’s bassist Steve Martin. “As the elder member of the group I can remember when radio would play rock, pop, soul, and country in the same hour.”

With members originating from London to Hawaii and ages ranging from 20’s to 50’s, diversity is the essence of the band’s sound. Pop, rock, country, blues, and jazz influences are incorporated into original songs composed for the groups recently released CD “Beloved”. The songs reflect the experiences of relationships and life, with a musical heart and a poet’s soul.
