The Kings

First off- This is all Sweet Willy P's idea. Sue him. The rest of us are innocent.
Sweet Willy actually had the idea to do a punk tribute to the King a couple of years back, and it never really seemed like a good time to do it. Until now. Sweet Willy and Mike Revis recorded the first track, "Burning Love", early August 2008. Drum loops, Bass and Guitar.
Having played in WAY to many bands in the area, they had a pretty good network of friends and musicians to choose from- Originally Fat Tony (Delta Sonic, The Silverback, Sikend...) was going to handle singing duties- But he has a BAZILLION music projects, and to ask him to take on another seemed unreasonable. We didn't want to put that kind of time demand on him... (We do love you, Tony!!)
Then we considered Jake Huber (DUMT, The Hewitt Nightmares, The Mentors, Jake and the Snakes) for front man.... We just never really pursued it seriously, and The Kings sat on the back burner.
MySpace- While cruising around on friends pages', (Thanks Jake) we stumbled on Maz-Scarea. Wait a minute- She could sing- She had the look, she had the attitude... And although we had NUMEROUS friends in common, we had never met!
As a matter of fact, when we met to lay down the vocal tracks for "Burning Love." The minute she opened her mouth, SweetWilly and Mike Revis new this was it. Recording went smooth, unless you count a dead mixing board, dead mic pre-amp, and no compression on the mic. Sarah was either so damn pro (or so damn punk) that it didn't even matter. She dropped some killer tracks, and we continued recording from there.
Next, we got Ricky DLM on the drums, and it is firing on all eight supercharged, nitro burning cylinders.
But its all about having fun. So at this point, we will see. The talent, attitude and music is there. The magic is clicking. We are so FUCKING excited. Wow.
So. These are all of our rough mixes- Un-Mastered and mostly un-edited. Hope you enjoy listening as much as e enjoyed recording it!
