About Hide Your Eyes (EP)

The Daysleepers theory on making music has always been to make the most beautiful, dreamy, textured sounds as possible. Music that all blends together into one thick wall of sound. The vocals subtly drift in and out of thick waves of guitar sounds, and synth backdrops. The focus is always on the melody and beauty of voice and sound. Like the pioneers of shoegaze music Cocteau Twins, Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, Lush....The Daysleepers continue to carry on the sounds of those bands very closely while adding in some new updated elements. The whole idea behind the music is to make great shoegaze music available to fans of the genre who miss the previous bands mentioned that sadly no longer exist. Music this beautiful should not disappear, especially when there are so many people out there that still want to hear it. If you love Shoegaze, Dream Pop, or Noise Rock, check out The Daysleepers, "Hide Your Eyes" E.P. you will not be disappointed.
"Threnody" the opening track starts very minimal and builds to a giant crescendo of gorgeous alien sounds. "Mesmerize" recalls the light and beautiful sound of The Cocteau Twins in their prime. "Stars on Fire" a nine minute wash of drifting lazy guitars, and reverbed vocals take us back to The Cure's "Disintegration" album. "Loved By The Sun" shows a dark droning side of the band, leading into very dark, almost gothic soundscapes. "Big Sleep" the final track, is a pretty song that boasts the most beautiful vocals on the E.P. Shoegazers do not miss out on this new edition to the genre! Keep on dreaming....NOTE: ALMOST OUT OF PRINT GET IT WHILE YOU CAN!!!
