“Another key piece of modern psychedlica. When Burgess sings lines like 'I don't belong to this world...' or 'I don't like the air that I breathe...', it's impossible not to get caught up in The Charlatans' trippy universe. Might be my favorite song on this amazing album.”

“I love Tim's voice on this one. The mash-up of melodies and effects-laden guitars and early electronica is like Massive Attack (the band) on morphine (the drug, not the band), which, for me, is a very, very good thing.”

“Melodies collide in a wash of effects-heavy vocals over a thumping bass line and ramped-up beat, with what certainly sounds like a cool piano part leading the charge. When the guitars spiral in and out, the impact is huge. Not a wah-wah jam, as the name implies, but a love-fest all the same.”

“A very trippy, mid-tempo track with layers upon layers of vocals that swirls lazily around--probably going nowhere, ultimately, but what a ride!”

“I confess to not knowing all the much about the history of all things Charlatans, but if 'Weirdo' wasn't intended as a theme to a James Bond film, it should have been. I think that says it all.”

“A perfect summer song: bouncy, jangly, melodic, catchy-as-all-get-out, and definitely under the influence. In a word? Infectious.”
littletimmy Rec'd this on Jul 25, 2009:
Street Cred: 406 Rec's: 139
“Kind-of a simple little number, almost something that could be described as a 'pop ditty,' except that it's way too psychedelic to strike a chord with the masses--closer to a 'White Album' outtake than a part of 'Sgt Pepper,' I suppose.”
littletimmy Rec'd this on Jul 25, 2009:
Street Cred: 406 Rec's: 139
“'Sights' seems as definitive as anything else of the Britpop phenomenom. Gorgeous, jangly guitars and electronic loops overlayed with Tim Burgess' lovely voice. I don't think this was even a single, but it should've been a hit.”
littletimmy Rec'd this on Jul 25, 2009:
Street Cred: 406 Rec's: 139
“A real favorite of mine. A vintage organ swell opens things up for fuzzy, dive-bombing guitars and what has to be several dozen layers of vocals. If you're looking for 90s-era psychedlica, look no further than 'The End Of Everything'--it's perfect.”
littletimmy Rec'd this on Jul 25, 2009:
Street Cred: 406 Rec's: 139
“Shades of Sub Pop (Nirvana, perhaps?) in the opening guitar line... then the organ swell... but everything sounds buried beneath the earth, particularly Tim's forlorn vocals. Wait and wait and wait for it to pick up, jump out of the ground... but it never does. Disturbing and hauntingly beautiful.”
