About The Big Idea
"After a brief guitar intro, The Big Idea bursts out of the shoot running wide open with the first cut 'She's A Mystery' and doesn't let up 'till the album ends. Guitarist Brad Ford plays some smokin' wah-wah guitar solos and veteran Billy Paul sings his heart out!"THE BIG IDEA tips the hat to its R&B and rock n' roll roots but breaks new ground with original songs that are vaguely familiar but intriguingly new and different. This is certainly not the kind of mass produced stuff you hear on the radio these days.
THE BIG IDEA is a recording project that includes several incredibly talented Oklahoma City musicians. Featuring songs written by guitarist Brad Ford and drummer Dewayne Grissom, THE BIG IDEA spans a vast range of musical styles, ranging from jazz-rock (ala Steely Dan) to R&B and blues-rock. The album features Brad Ford on guitar, bass and synthesizers, and Dewayne Grissom on drums and vocals. Billy Paul is the featured vocalist on four tracks and Gary Riley plays saxophone on seven of the album's cuts.
