Supervinyls

The first artist to sign with digital-only record company Red91, Supervinyls are best described as blending the pure funk of the seventies with their own particular preference for today's groove. Simplicity in their approach to recording and remixing has drawn much praise from their peers. Remixes in 2007 so far include The Figment, Mashing Adam and the SilkFly September release.

Supervinyls have come along way since their early creations and collaborations. Following several single and EP releases, the album Transmission 14 is really a culmination of the best of the past. Transmission 14 did not begin with an idea to record and release a bunch of tracks. Supervinyls have long since abandoned the idea of recording tracks for a group release and simply write and record music for the purpose of the day. This can include a short piece to back an advert or something more complicated like a movie or games soundtrack.

However, after a couple of years of drifting between platforms it became clear that a body of music was being produced that unified precisely what Supervinyls have always been - a producer of great funk music. Red91 records recognised this and convinced Supervinyls to release Transmission 14, first as a free download, then through all the new distribution means aside from the traditional.

So far the reaction has been overwhelming and the artist is now busy working on several new projects and collaborations which are likely to find their way to your ears early next year.
