About Stigmata

Stigmata exploded onto the local scene in the fall of 2005 with their Hit Radio single "Freakshow". With a streak of sold out shows in Omaha and Council Bluffs and nearly two years after the release of their five song demo album, Stigmata is still packing out venues and turning stages into pulpits of insanity with their intense live show. With the long awaited follow up and first full length release from the band tentatively titled "The Walking Dead" due out in late January 2008, the four piece freak show shows no signs of going away anytime soon.

The history of Stigmata begins in the fall of 1995 when Kayliff (lead vocals) who was pursuing a musical career in the thrash metal genre of the early 90’s decided to read through a copy of the Living Bible as an intellectual challenge. As has been the result of such an undertaking for countless before him, the end product was a profound spiritual experience and a dramatic conversion. After leaving the secular music scene he began attending a local Church where he joined the worship team by playing guitar. He then became close friends with John (bass) who played guitar at the Church. The two then attended a two year theology course and in June of 2003 they received certification in Christian ministry through the Institute of Theology by Extension. After forming a youth ministry called “Crucified Lives in Christ”, (C.L.I.C.) and serving as youth pastors for the next year, Kayliff and John began writing songs for what is now known as Stigmata. Kayliff’s previous band mate, Chris (guitar) joined the faith in the mid-nineties and James (drums) was converted shortly thereafter. Both joined Stigmata in the fall of 2003. With the release of their self titled five song E.P. in November 2005, their first radio single “Freakshow” has catapulted the band to the top of the local music scene in Omaha NE and the surrounding areas. After two years of regular radio rotation and sold out shows in the local scene, Stigmata has become and remains a local favorite. Following two years on the play list at 89.7 The River in Council Bluffs/Omaha, Freakshow is still getting play via request. Having outlived many national artists singles of similar genres, the hit single has sent their self titled E.P. to the top of the local best selling charts reaching the number two spot in January 2006. Combining a unique blend of heavy guitars with a hip-hop, head banging, jump in the mosh pit feel, it has a blunt yet scripturally sound message. Stigmata is...”taking the gospel to a culture of people who may never set foot in a church and sharing with them the indescribable joy of knowing the risen savior Jesus Christ”…
