Monte and Marcia Jones

TWO VOICES and........

Guitar, Irish Bouzouki, Cittern, Bodhran, Irish Flute, Native American Flute, Irish Pennywhistle, Recorder, Harmonica, Ocarina, Highland Bagpipes, Smallpipes

Step In Time got their name from Marcia and Monte’s need to "mix things up", musically speaking. They perform music of all genres, from all ages, while staying true to the spirit and energy of Celtic music. It's best explained as CelticEclectic.

Monte Jones: Vocals, Guitar, Irish Bouzouki, Bodhran, Cittern: Monte Jones has many years of performance experience having performed with 11 diverse bands. Monte is an accomplished actor having performed for many years in community and college theatre. He has also produced, directed and acted in dinner theatre productions at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Base. You can also see Monte (if you don’t blink) in two movies; "Vamping" with Patrick Duffy and the more recent "Fly Away Home". Monte is also a leather carver specializing in Celtic motifs. See the Celtic Cow page!! Monte is a Tenor Drummer with the MacKenzie Highlanders pipes and drums corp. and provides educational workshops on Irish drumming techniques and leather carving.

Marcia Jones: Vocals, Flutes, Pennywhistles, Recorder, Harmonica, Ocarina, Highland Pipes, Smallpipes:

Marcia Collins- Jones is a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist with many years of performing experience. In addition to her musicianship, Marcia also has many years of theatrical experience lending to her stage presence. Marcia has a Master's Degree in Education which she puts to use as a workshop facilitator for instruments, vocals and music history.

PERFORMANCES: In addition to their Celtic Performances, Step In Time can provide an eclectic musical event with selections from SIT’s extensive and ever growing repertoire or let us develop a musical program suited to your specific theme or event.

EDUCATIONAL PRESENTATIONS: Step In Time provides educational, music presentations featuring a variety of instruments and focusing on the history of various genres of music.

“Marcia and Monte Jones describe their music as CelticEclectic - it is a unique and very appealing blend of voices, guitar, pennywhistle, flute, pipes, harmonica, and more. Check out the whole album, but this song (IMO) is the prime cut.”
