Our take

"Boston natives State Radio are back with their third full length album, which combines driving guitars and relaxed soul for catchy, ska-inspired tunes. "

“State Radio's breadth of style and genre is always so impressive and refreshing.”

“Very different to Calling Crows, almost sounds like an Irish Pub band... very hard driving drum snares in the background... great driving tune! A great live track if you can find it too.”
ken37 Rec'd this on Sep 29, 2009:
Street Cred: 322 Rec's: 14
“Funkier, mellow song by State Radio. More reggae, this is definitely where they get the "reggae" tag. Much better than typical white boy reggae.”

“Hard to pick a favorite song on this album, but this miggt be one I would use to introduce someone to State Radio.”
jujubeebop Rec'd this on Sep 29, 2009:

“Some radiant ska-filled goodness... with the kind of stand-up lyrics you come to expect from State Radio.”
ken37 Rec'd this on Sep 29, 2009:

“Shows the harder edge of State Radio. Definitely more rocking than you would expect from a band that came out of Dispatch.”

“First heard it as part of the E.P on here a while ago... fantastic Ska/Reggae track with a great bouncy drum rhythm in the background - very reminiscent of the 'Thomas Crown Affair' soundtrack.”
darkruk Rec'd this on Sep 29, 2009:
Street Cred: 991 Rec's: 45
“Hard hitting song with incredible vocal interplay between the lead singers.”
Procrastinator37 Rec'd this on Sep 29, 2009:

“Strongest single off the album. The "CIA" of Let it go”
ken37 Rec'd this on Sep 29, 2009:
Street Cred: 322 Rec's: 14
“I had originally dismissed State Radio as your typical "jam band," which I hate. But they have a much harder edge, with amazing lyrics. It's almost like hippie punk. Closer to the Clash than Grateful Dead.”
