“'Hljomalin' is the reason I like Sigur Ros. This song encompasses the epic gradual builds and the outpouring of complex musical energy that makes Sigur Ros a must listen. Particularly enjoyable for those wanting to be lost in a swirl of beautiful.”

“Meditative and plodding, shutting yourself up with this song almost makes you feel as if you've slowed down time. Either a very good or very very bad idea to give this song a listen if you're feeling lonely and sad; possibly devastating but possibly inspired. Either way, a beautiful creation by Sigur Ros.”

“One of the most beautiful songs ever. Can't beat it coupled with the jaguar shark in Life Aquatic.”

“beautiful atmospheric tune. singer has a really amazing voice, the strings and glockenspiel add so much to the subtle build of this simple, but epic tune. the live acoustic/version is great too.”

“Okay, a quick lesson on Sigur Ros...They are Icelandic. They sing in a made-up language they call Hopelandic. The lead singer is blind in one eye. They are in their early 30s, but have been putting out their anthemic music since their mid-teens. They completely kick ass and build the most beautiful soundscapes in the genre...Mogwai, Explosions and others stand in awe.”

“A gorgeous track which originally appeared on the "( )" album, this song is better taken in the context of the rest of that album. That said, this dramatic live recording was done outdoors in the band's home country of Iceland. ”
