About Somewhere in Chicago

Shotgun Elvis released their first CD "Somewhere in Chicago" in early 2004.
The title of the CD comes from the title track and crowd favorite "Somewhere in Chicago" which pays homage to all the great, forgotten times in a city that not only serves as a backdrop to good-times and memories but which also continues to be a real inspiration.

Currently the band is busy writing new songs for the next CD and playing out as often as possible.
Check out www.shotgunelvis.com for information on CD's, lyrics, t-shirts and past & upcoming shows.
Write to shotgunelvis@yahoo.com for bookings and any other questions.
Cheers & Thanx!!!

Midwest Rumblings: Regional Demo Reviews from Bubbling Under Artists
by Corine Jurgerson

Shotgun Elvis has sent us Somewhere in Chicago and the Valpo punk band falls somewhere between Rancid and Social Distortion.

Who knew that Valparaiso could be so dirty?

You've got your typical punk sound: a few chords, choppy vocals and that signature popping rhythm â€" but one thing is different than the typical "punk" you hear today â€" there is no presence of that sugary, poppy "Good Charlotte" shit here.

In a nutshell, it's all about sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll for these three guys. Their sound gives a real throwback to some of the forefathers of punk â€" who I can only guess were a strong influence on the band’s musical maturity.

And although it's almost unbelievable that a small town like Valparaiso, Indiana spawned these guys â€" fans of music can now truly say that there is more than corn in Indiana.
