About Ars Nova ( A Musical Beginning)

A producer, songwriter, holy hip-hop artist and musician, Ricky R. Temple Jr. (also known as RJ) is a young man(23) on a mission to put pressure on the quality of the music industry through production and musicianship. He is a boy wonder that shows class, style, and threat in his approach. Rj is the music director of Overcoming by Faith ministries where his father, Ricky Temple Sr., is the pastor. He is also a piano instructor in the Highest Praise School of the Arts, a part of Overcoming By Faith Ministries arts education program.
RJ received a Bachelors Degree in Music from Georgia Southern University where he was affiliated with the famous GSU jazz band ensemble and received an opportunity to play for Tom “bones” Malone from the David Letterman Show. Skilled in various instruments such as piano, accordion, harmonica, rosewood flute, saxophone, aborigine horn, chanter, and drums, just to name a few, RJ’s primary instrument is the piano. He played for ministries across the nations to include Jamaica, Hawaii, and England.
He has accompanied numerous artist such as Judith McAllister, Kierra “Kiki” Sheard, Canton Jones, and Trinitee 5:7, to name a few. Under DRT Productions, He produced many artists in the local area.
As a holy hip artist, RJ takes a stand against the norm of holy hip-hop stereotype. So many youth has been inspired by his unique approach to rap and worship. Colliding the two, he formed a new sound of praise sought by this generation. From solo rhymes, to congregational hip hop chant, Rj Temple is building a standard of spiritual excellence that no one has yet accomplished. He’s not using hip-hop as a way to fade out traditional gospel, but as a tool to enhance the Kingdom of God just as the holy hip hop fathers of the early 90s did. “The goal is the souls”, he says. He believes that if the kingdom of God shows more diversity and get out of the comfort zone, our material would rather inspire instead of intimidate them by our holiness. His role in society has inspired many to go to school for music as well as become lyricist of clarity and reason. Rj Temple believes that “Talent comes naturally, but ability comes gradually” because in order to be an icon in society you must not rest but run. Time is running out and so many lives are on the line. It’s time to make “Myoozik”.
