There are friends who complain about certain "morose music" on my iPod, but I'm learning to put these precious gems in a playlist all their own, and enjoy them in those quiet moments when they fit a mood that no other song can speak to. And, besides, when a songwriter puts together a couplet like: "When the wall is broken / Another victim of your tired, petty rage / And you feel like such a transparent asshole / Explaining to your super how it got that way" you know you can listen to it over and over again and understand where we've all been every single time.”
