About EP

P I L O T 'S L O U N G E

Think Velvet Revolver, Led Zeppelin, Pearl Jam, & The Black Crowes - minus the raging drug habits, rehab, near-death experiences and career highs and lows.

Nashville rock band Pilot's Lounge has gradually risen out of the ashes of three now-defunct local rock bands that were each generating their own buzz in the music community. But the demise of Costar, Lucky Black, & Lover's Red birthed friendships that were then bonded by similar interests in music, but have evolved into a band whose members have similar interests in life and the pursuit of great original rock music.

Pilot's Lounge frontman Eric Hurt, guitarist Ian Michaels, bassist Jason Hardin, and drummer Solomon Davis agree that this band has some important elements their previous incarnations didn't: true musical chemistry, genuine friendships, creative freedom, and most importantaly one strong vision.

"The vision is to bring back real rock and rool", Michael says. "I am sick of turning on the radio and hearing bumble gum chords and manufactured artists".

And that vision is backed by some serious talent and an amazing ability to create melodic, driving music that borrows from the classic rock bands of the past; and meshes it with the freshest rock riffs blasting throughout any live music venue today. The collective vision for where the band is headed and what's driving the momentum is what the members feel sets them apart from other musicians who may have the talent, but suffer from a lack of focus.

Hurt says "We have a clear vision of what we want to do. We aren't trying to find ourselves. We can always write better and better songs, but we know what we are about. You don't hear those great Guns N' Roses riffes anymore with bands. We want to play straight-up rock and roll with a melody and with guitar parts that stick."

The clear vision, shared by all four members of the band, is to stay focused on the music and beacause of that, create something memorable.

"A big deal for us, more than anything else, is that we make timeless music" Davis says. "Anyone can have a rock band, but not everyone can make timeless music and have staying power".

In less than a year's time, Pilot's Lounge has written, recorded and released a self-produced EP that has generated interested from LA, Nashville, and New York. The group has rocked area venues from Exit/In to Mercy Lounge. Pilot's Lounge is being played on college and altervative stations across Middle Tennessee including Nashville rock station 102.9 The Buzz, where they hold the title for the most requested regional band - two months in a row.

The group is admittedly unashamed of the music it is collectively producing, yet is eager to work with industry professionals who can escalate their music to the next level.

"If you combine our vision, our passion, our talent and our willingness to be guided; that opens up the door for success", Hurt says.
