About Handful o' Dirt

I never knew how good these songs were until I heard what this ensemble did with them on this recording. In my mind the difference is between a stick figure of a couple of flowers and a real live bouquet, fresh and blooming.
This is music that feels comfortably familiar and yet full of innovation and a catchy kind of eccentricity. The harmony singing is rich and full and honest, compelling the listener to sing along. It's an album that doesn't just serve as a backdrop, but sets a unique mood and draws the listener in to participate again and again in the poetic experience of music. It feels good and its fun.
