About Free OJ

Peanut Butter and Julie [PBnJ] is a New York-based pop/rock band fronted by Patrick Halloran and Julie Reisse. The band has been applauded for mixing smart lyrics with crafty acoustic hooks, folk/pop foundations and harmony-driven rock.

The brother/sister act grew up in Allentown, PA but formed as a band in Pittsburgh when Julie moved there to attend graduate school. Upon threat of disownment Patrick was persuaded by their mother to "Play some music with your sister, she doesn't know anyone." He did.

Five years later PBnJ has evolved into a full-time touring and recording act. The band has recorded extensively over the last three years, appearing on other artists' albums as well as recording two-full length albums. Most recently the band collaborated with Producer Saul Zonana (Paula Cole, Joan Osborne, Blue Oyster Cult) on their newest album, "Free OJ." Backed by guitarist Andrew Carrillo (Joan Osborne, Nicole McKenna), drummer Dave Johnson (Billy Bragg, Bo Diddly) and Zonana on bass, the album has been lauded as a "Pop Music wet dream" by Critical Mass Weekly.

The band is already recording tracks for their next album while they play shows across the East Coast and Midwest in support of "Free OJ." They're currently splitting time between acoustic shows and full-band engagements.
