About Solo Acoustic

Paul Zunno is an accomplished blues guitarist and critically acclaimed songwriter hailing from New York City. Paul has received rave reviews as a live performer and has toured throughout the United States, Europe and Australia. He performs solo and with the Paul Zunno Band.

Zunno held the distinct honor of playing lead guitar for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Wilson Pickett for seven years until his passing. He appeared on "The Late Show with David Letterman" in support of Mr. Pickett's last album and performed in the Miramax film, "Only the Strong Survive"; a movie about legendary soul singers.

Paul Zunno has written and recorded songs for Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame inductee Gary U.S Bonds including “Christmas is On”, featured in 2007’s holiday film “A Merry Little Christmas”. His music can be heard on MTV's "The Real World" and independent films.

Zunno has released three diverse albums incorporating blues, rock and authentic roots music; The Honeybee", "Black & White and Blues All Over" and his newest release "Paul Zunno - Solo Acoustic".

Paul Zunno is co-founder of Onesock Productions; a concert combining his solo acoustic concert with modern/jazz dance.

Street Cred: 28 Rec's: 3
“It's an extraordinary trick to pull off covers of songs that are as well known as "All Along the Watchtower," and most specifically in this case when another cover version (Jimi Hendrix) is better known than the original (Bob Dylan.) The song has been covered extensively by many other more famous artists (including Pearl Jam, John Mellencamp, & the Indigo Girls) but this rendition ranks as my personal favorite. Mr. Zunno finds a wonderfully unique folk/blues-jazz angle into the song that other cover versions somehow miss. His fantastic ear for the heart of the song's lyrics and the hooks overrides my impression of the musicianship involved in this cover... yet nevertheless his technical skills should not go without mention. His softly gravelly voice is used to excellent effect, and I simply cannot say enough about his guitar playing. In short, it's a beautifully accomplished cover.”
