About The Party's Over

Paranoids are currently a rock outfit formed of three humans in San Francisco. Their music, which has evolved dramatically since the release of their first EP, The Party's Over (Pandacide, 2004), straddles a few odd fences--perhaps best described on the blog of a rabid fan as "a dance-inspiring blend of mod, post-punk, and pure vintage talent--a David Lynch interpretation of a Bobby Darin concert."

Paranoids feed you your dirty-guitar rock and serve it up with a creepy, macabre twist. They take cues from the post-punks, dragging out the odd dance beat or warped, menacing synth. They evoke the dramatic flourishes of bygone glitter-glam days--in the words of one fan, "slightly like Diamond Dogs-era Bowie." The eclectic mix is tied together through singer Daemon's uniquely nasal rants, which draw comparisons to Peter Murphy, Jello Biafra, and Mark E. Smith.

Paranoids assembled themselves in 2004 from the ruins of Bay Area band the Librarians, a frantic punk/pop act who made some waves with their antic-heavy stage show. The addition of guitarist/keyboardist Lenin set the climate for their second EP, ObsessionsDelusions&HeadtripsVol.1, released in October 2005. This fall, Paranoids are set to release the second of the series, ObsessionsDelusions&HeadtripsVol.2.
