About Sister Please

Mixed and mastered at home, by trial and error, the recording presented here as Sister Please was never intended as a final product. Most of the tracks were scratch tracks, used to flesh out the arrangement. As the tracks grew, the whole process started to seem too much to quite sort out. Beyond the musical issues, my Mac was proving too slow to handle the mix in real time. I exported an mp3 where i was, posted it for friends on my blog and put the song on the shelf.

Moved on to finishing the master of Get Well Soon for release... In the meantime, for reasons unknown, my blog was indexed by a Chinese search engine. At the time, there were four rough tracks posted on the front page. Since then, those four tracks have been downloaded thousands of times, for free, from China. Sister Please has been the most lastingly popular of all. In eight months it has been downloaded somewhere around 70,000 times.

Anyway, I figure I might as well release Sister Please as is. 70,000 Chinese can't be wrong! That reasoning, at least, relieves me of having to go back in with the intent of cleaning up the assortment of errors. It is as it is, for whatever enjoyment it brings.
