“Like a wooden duck drifting through space. He's at ease with his place in the scheme of things but he's still faintly lonely. Lovely.”

“"Place For My Things" sounds like a wind-up music box from a distant, futuristic past -- if that makes sense. Threaded with a melodic motif and bleeps and clicks that don't distract from a jazzy baseline and classy, solid drums that serve as foundation, "Place..." is a tied together piece. This is another REC for some stellar performers.”

“When I write song reviews, I notice I tend to recommend the final song on an album. To me, the final song is just as if not more than important than the first. It is a summary of what you just digested, and afterthought, and postscript, and often leaves a joyful, fulfilled, or bittersweet flavor in our auditory palette. If it's done right, it will even make you a little sad the album is over. If the album is done right, you listened to the whole thing without the atrocious "shuffle" option on your musical device of choice. "Luminosity" wraps up this album well: it embraces and then lets go of the musical motifs and makes you happy you heard it.”

“Electronic Jazz! This growing and wonderful genre is well-suited and well-innovated by the eclectic Opsvik & Jennings. Sounding influenced by classical Jazz stylings as well as innovating the more modern, ambient, post-rock sound we've come to love Tortoise for, O&J keep it fresh with each beat. "Double Stop" is a good ground-breaker for those who may timid around the genre or new artists. It begins in a simple meter, and adds unique instrumental flourishes with each cycle in the bar. Count the layering, think about your music, or simply sit back and enjoy.”
