About Metacognitive Apperceptions

Home-recorded album of all new material, from December 2008 (released Jan. 2009). Re-using some drums tracks from his Swedish drummer Tommie Riot's London sessions for some Rich Rags recordings, Leyton drums up 10 brand new songs in 6 weekend evenings at his new home in Setubal, Portugal: mostly one takes on the bass, guitars and vocals, and you can spot the unfinished lyrics and every single rough edge. "Blossom, for example, was written, recorded and produced during the time it took Ana to walk the dog..." That in and of itself is the charm - absolute spontaneity captured "on tape"... the way the re-worked drum tracks run out on the brand new songs, and the way that it was mixed as though recorded on old 2" analog tape. No ProTools trickery - just a recluse, a Mac, and a bottle of wine. And the inspiration...
