“manages to mix snippets of chinese opera into a funky and surprisingly danceable tune -- this whole album, but especially this song, has achieved a truly unique sound.”

“Damon Albarn has done it again. The first song off of Monkey: Journey to the West is a smooth, upbeat intro into the world of Monkey. Electro-riffs mixed with a bit of pop and seasoned with a hint of Peking Opera make for a delicious auditory delight. Excuse me, I have to devour this album.”

“As the title suggests, this song sounds as if Gorillaz' "Hong Kong" experienced an ascension in audio. Cool!”

“The marching "thud, thud, thud" percussion and angry Mandarin make this track particularly arresting, in an almost "My Life in the Bush of Ghosts" way. Very interesting.”
