Miriam Jones

A UK newcomer, Jones comes from Vancouver where last year she released her second record, “Being Here”, which gained immediate popularity on CBC Radio (the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) where she was featured as artist of the week:

Several cuts from the album have since been licensed by a variety of indie film makers.

Often compared to Suzanne Vega, Aimee Mann, and Eva Cassidy, Jones has a way of singing the soul back home without putting it to sleep, a feat not readily accomplished in the world of the woman singer songwriter. Poppy and light? Yes. Soulful and raw? Indeed. Folky and human? Absolutely. Jones has a particular gift for writing earth and angels side by side, and a voice suited to sounding them so.
