Our take

"On his fifth solo studio effort we see Doughty showcasing his signature jangling guitars and intimate, brooding sound."

“More of the stuff that this guy does. Not a whole lot of range but it's nice enough. Serviceable, strummy, and acerbic.”

“This song sounds kinda like a track from his sophomore record - Rockity Roll. A very good song and likely the one that will receive the most radio play...”

“This part caught my attention and proceeded to stay stuck in my head for days: "You may ask ‘what do girls like?’ / Girls are soft and they smell nice / Girls like flowers and they just might be nice to you."”

“Very clever lyrics in this song, sounds hopeful and sad at the same time. How do you do that in a song? ”

“This could be a continuation of Nectarine (part one) in Mike's previous record- Golden Delicious... but it sounds completely different. It is a very good song- Scrapp Livingston's frantic strings can be heard in the background. A very good start for Mr. Doughty's fifth 'solo' album!”
