About What If

"What If" is the collaboration of five musicians who bring the listener into a musical setting that is as enjoyable to experience as it is difficult to describe. Each member has a classical background and they've all reached beyond that world to explore other styles ranging from the improvisations and rhythms of jazz and Latin music to the energy and textures of rock and new age. The end result is an engaging and refreshing musical offering with surprises at every turn. The instrumentation alone lends itself to frequent second glances with two acoustic guitars (one driving a synthesizer) flute, electronic cello and bass, a variety of percussion instruments and dynamic vocals. At any given moment the listener's eyes and ears are in disagreement as to how many musicians are actually contributing to the sonic collate they hear versus what they see before them.

Heartfelt and moving adult contemporary music for flute and guitar which is reflective and unfolds in a variety of moods. Contemplative and intensely captivating, this music evokes a primal quality which captures and releases the imagination.

They have performed concerts as a classical duo throughout Europe and the United States. Over time, their musical interests have expanded to include Irish, Flamenco, and Latin influences, among others. By incorporating elements from various traditions, Michael and Adam create a unique musical landscape which ranges around the globe without losing sight of its classical home.
