Matthew Gair

Matthew Gair was born in Bethlehem, he moved to Zimbabwe as a young boy and grew up in the city of Harare. He is now living at the foot of a mountain in Africa.

On "And She Whispered I Told You So..." Matthew recorded everything and played most of the parts except for the percussion on Understood which was performed by Tristan Waterkeyn (who has a brilliant album called Hay Day on Amiestreet). Tristan also took on lead guitar duties on the same track. The album was mixed and mastered at Rockit Dog Studios in Cape Town.

On the first half of "Aeroplanes and Evil Brains" Matthew went to Dockyard Studios to record with engineer Matt Allison. Mr. Allsion ended up performing the track making Glockenspiel on The First Time. Nic Smal from the melodic screamo rock band New Altum (www.myspace.com/newaltumband) performed all the drums, with Matthew on Guitar, Bass and Vocals.

At that point Matthew ran out of money and mixed the songs in his bedroom (on a pair of headphones). He managed to get the tracks mastered at the superb TL Mastering facility on a farm in Stellenbosch.

Matthew is trying to get more studio time to record five more songs to complete "Aeroplanes and Evil Brains" so please come back and keep checking in the next few months for more songs entitled;
