“First off, this tune is not for everyone, or even probably most people. If you don't have a taste for the odd and eclectic move along. A Train of Thought is an utterly bizarre, oddly entrancing, song. An anxious expectation of disaster pervades the piece. The music is a melee of half diminished chords and clashing symbols. The rhythm is akin to a dryer with an uneven load, gyrating on a teetering tower of shoddy scaffolding. You expect the whole thing to come tumbling down at any second, but it never does. The vocals sound like Gollum. This is what Stravinsky might have sounded like if he had a synthesizer and a mature crack habit.”
